Resolution on the Middle East
The undersigned communist and workers parties, participants in the 16th International Communist Seminar in Brussels, from 4 to 6 May 2007,
denounce the policy of genocide, liquidation and massive destruction of
the Zionist, racist and bellicose Zionist State against the Palestinian
people;
denounce the warmongering of this State and the aggression it has unleashed against Lebanon, as well as its occupation of the Lebanese farms of Chebaa and of the Syrian Golan;
sharply denounce the imperialist occupation of Iraq by the Anglo-Americans
and their allies, their projects to partition the country on ethnic and
confessional bases, in concordance with their Iraqi lackeys, certain reactionary
Arab regimes and regional forces with expansionist aims;
condemn the unconditional support furnished by US imperialism and by the European Union to Israel in its policy of war and expansion vis-à-vis the peoples and the countries of the region;
denounce the US project for a "Greater Middle East", the "Economic
Partnership Agreements" and the "new neighbourhood policies"
of the European Union as imperialist and colonialist projects and policies,
with the aim of assuring the grip of the imperialist monopolies over the
regions resources, the exploitation and the submission of its peoples;
denounce as well the reactionary regimes and obscurantist religious currents;
express their solidarity and their support:
to the Palestinian people in their struggle for national and social liberation, for the return of all Palestinian refugees and for the establishment of an independent, viable, democratic and secular state;
to the Lebanese people and its heroic patriotic resistance against the US-Zionist aggressors, for the liberation of its occupied territory and for the liberation of its prisoners detained by the Israelis;
to the Syrian people in their struggle to recover the sovereignty of the occupied Golan and in its resistance against the imperialist threats and blockade;
to the Iraqi resistance against the imperialist occupiers and their capitulationist allies, so that Iraq may regain its independence and sovereignty in the framework of a unified and democratic country, with guarantees for equal rights for all nationalities and national minorities;
to all Arab peoples and their communist vanguards that are fighting the anti-popular, reactionary and despotic regimes, for national and social liberation, for democracy and for the unity of the patriotic forces in the region to face and confront the US project of the so-called "Greater Middle East"
