Explanatory notes
Preparatory texts to the 2005 International Communist Seminar (ICS) will be placed on www.icsbrussels.org from February 2005. Participants are invited to send the ICS secretariat such texts, in particular their own reports for the ICS 2005. We invite you to let us know, before February 15, 2005, on which precise subject you wish to submit a contribution to the Seminar.
Session 1, on the lessons of the Communist International, will be based on in-depth reports. It will be a study session and first exchange of ideas, not aimed at joint conclusions.
Session 2 aims to achieve a real unity among Seminar participants based on a short resolution (see in attached document, the ICS 2005 draft resolution to be amended) taking into account ICS conclusions since 1999 and based on the Declaration of the ICS 2003-2004 (see www.icsbrussels.org) entitled : "Workers and peoples of the world, let us unite against imperialism, in particular against the US".
Session 3 will start with practical experiences of joint work among Communist and Workers’ Party. It aims to specify the common internationalist tasks those parties can initiate. They include in particular:
Solidarity with socialist countries or countries which aspire to socialism
Solidarity with countries and peoples resisting imperialism and fighting for independence and liberation
Communist intervention in international mobilisations and international mass movements (against monopoly capital, against war, for democracy and socialism)
Organisation of multilateral meetings, international or regional conferences and seminars among communist and workers’ parties
Evaluation of current international co-operation among communist and workers’ parties, based on points 81-88 (« For the Unity of Marxist-Leninists ») of the Declaration of the 1999 ICS (see www.icsbrussels.org)
