Political and tactical tasks for the communists

Wars are a phenomenon, by which mankind is accompanied in the whole of history. The urgency of searching the ways, how to avoid wars or totally do away with them, follows from the fact, that these wars are more destructive, they bring more suffering to the civil population and referring to the existence of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons there is more danger of destruction of life itself on earth. Communists and rationally thinking people, wherever they live, have to do everything in their power to reduce the risk of this catastrophe.

The basic thesis of Marxism in this field is Clausewitz´s conclusion, that „war is only the continuation of politics by other (especially violent) means." It is also known, that the contents of politics is created by the economic interests of some class. In Lenin´s passage „Socialism and War" (1915) is the following conclusion: „ It is not possible to remove war, if classes are not removed." It is, evidently, the strategical creed of Marxists. We live, however, in the real world, in which class society creates its legitimate form. Capitalism, which is, at present, the main social-economic and social formation, entered on the stage of modern history with the lofty slogan „Liberty, equality, fraternity." Capitalism has brought an enormous technical, economic and social progress by its birth. The greed for production and business, however, has gradually been changed into pathological egoism of rich people, into a ruthless hunt for power and wealth. From the revolutionary slogan of the bourgeoisie only LIBERTY, liberty to exploit and enslave has remained. High finance has created by its ruthless force the infamous colonial system, enslaved and plundered whole continents. V. I. Lenin in his work „ Imperialism as the highest stage of Capitalism" says: „The world is divided into a handful of usurer´s States and into the enormous majority of States – debtors. Nowadays, this division has reached the absurd. We will never know how many „inferior" aboriginals died in endless colonial wars. We know only the result: the present world is divided into the small group of "developed democracies", which ruthlessly waste the material and energy resources of our planet for their welfare. The present world is also divided into endless territories of so-called developing countries, which inherited mass illiteracy and unthinkable poverty after the colonialism. At present, the gap between poverty and welfare on earth can be expressed by the ratio 1/80. There is one fact which goes against common sense, that at the beginning of the 21st century more than one billion of people are starving on Earth and more than 15 million people are dying of starvation annually and also because of the shortage of drinking water and basic medicines.

The unbridled chase of bigger profit by high finance caused to the mankind the whole series of enormous tragedies in the 20th century. The fight for the new division of spheres of influence between imperialist powers resulted in World War I. Millions of people died in trenches and millions of crippled people came back to their families. The victorious powers, however, controlled for a long period sources of raw materials and the power of monopolies has been steadily increasing. High finance twisted unchecked spiral of liberal market, which resulted in the big recession at the beginning of the 30´s. Millions of people were affected by unemployment, poverty and starvation. In Germany the social tragedy of millions of people resulted in national socialism and Adolf Hitler came to power. The vision of Nazi ideologists about the chosen people, which has the exclusive right to „life space" resulted in the unleash of the most devastating war in human history. The world-ruling plans of Adolf Hitler caused the death of more than 50 million people and unthinkable suffering to tens of million civilians. Nazis „enriched" the mankind with the method of systematic murders of ideological opponents and racially „inferior" people in the concentration camps.

I would like to emphasise the fact, that the European and American monopolies helped Hitler´s Germany a lot by the material preparation of this „military adventure."

After the end of World War II. millions of ordinary people in Paris, London, New York and Prague were speaking out the only dream: War never more! World capital, however, could not give up the profits from armaments and therefore this world capital prepared for mankind a poisoned present – the atom bomb. When the atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on 6th August 1945 American imperialism started one of the biggest tragedies of mankind – nuclear armament. The Soviet Union did not want to be blackmailed, so it had to extend its programme of nuclear armament. Unthinkable financial and material means have been spent upon nuclear armament for decades. Only a fraction was devoted to help for developing countries. Nowadays, any starving man does not have to be on the earth. But, maybe, it is not the problem of imperialistic monopolies. They have their own priority: maximum profits and maximum power. Nuclear armaments have created absolutely new situation on the earth: within several minutes all the human civilization can be liquidated by nuclear weapons.

But the dream of millions of ordinary people: „War never more" has never been fulfilled after the end of World War II. In various parts of the world have occured tens of military conflicts in which thousands of people died. Information agencies always gave us some explanation about their causes. The iron logic, however, gives us the most accurate answer to the fact, that there is not more profitable business in the world than the business with weapons.

The sincere wishes were spoken out by all people all over the world at the beginning of the 21st century. The new century should bring new hope. It appeared that wishful thinking is simply not accepted. Marxists know that the economic, ecological and social situation in the world still gains more catastrophic character in connection with the pathological pursuit by high finance of continual increase of profits and the effort in concentration of the power among a few individuals.

The dreams about better life fell down on 11th September 2001. The consequences of this attack at the World Trade Center and Penthagon, naturally, gave rise to horror and then sorrow over the human victims. It was an excessive simplification of the problem when later the officials of the USA announced about the attack of terrorists on „our" civilisation. Apart from another facts, there is one letter written by the bishop of the United Catholic Church from Florida to George Bush. Here are some thoughts from it. „The hate we sowed is coming back to us in the form of terrorism. We should send our sons and daughters to the Arabian World to build there infrastructure, provide drinking water for Arabs and give the food to their children, but we, instead send our sons and daughters to kill Arabs. But that positive activity, however, would not bring expected profits to American companies.

Referring to telling and to the fact, that the USA realized the unlawful military aggression against Irak, the task to of finding forms of activities against violence and war is very difficult. Because the most important cause of increasing violence in the world is the absurd social situation ( it means the gap between the wealth of the small group and the poverty of thousands of people) it is useful to explain about the necessity of the opposition of all working people against globalization with the biggest dimension and with all possible means. Globalization is pursued by the multinational monopolies in contravention to the elementary principles of democracy and humanism. Communists should search the most effective cooperation with the antiglobal movement, which is now reflected in various places of the world and organizes some activities against continuing of making poor whole regions in the earth.

In the period of the fight of world associations against the prepared agression of the USA against Irak, there was a very important notice at the Conference of States and Governments of 116 States, the members of the Movement of the non-aligned countries in Kuala Lumpur. These members unequivocally denounced the effort of the USA to become the world monarch, which will decide about the fortune of sovereign states and use the absurd method of preventive attacks on the basis of willfulness of the US Administration. We should search the most effective cooperation with this movement.

When the USA started war against Irak on 20th March, it was a cynical trample of the Charter of the United Nations and of the system of international contracts which has been formed for tens of years. The only laws, which will be accepted on the international scene, are the laws of the Wild West, in which only is right who has more weapons. On the basis of events around Irak, we have to think about the fact, that mankind has to pay an unthinkable toll that spiritually immature or mental-handicapped people decide about his fortune.
