Resolution about political prisoners in Nepal
Since 1996, the Nepalese people are advancing towards revolution through protracted people’s war, led by the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). World imperialism and the Indian expansionists very well know that this struggle will not stop just by ending the rule of the domestic reactionaries in Nepal. The Bush administration has announced that they are behind the Nepalese State to suppress "terrorism". The same has been done by the Indian expansionists, who are the common enemy of the people of South Asia.
With the blessings of the imperialists and expansionists and in order to smash the people’s struggle, the fascist Nepalese State and its Royal Military are waging terror against the people. Every day, they are massacring unarmed Nepalese masses by their dozens. They ruthlessly murder unarmed political activists who are in their custody, passing this off as deaths in (fake) encounters. Hundreds of journalists, lawyers, intellectuals and thousands of common people are suffering in jail or are in Army custody, without any legal procedure. They are treated inhumanly. Campaigns of kidnapping and disappearing have intensified.
The following leaders and cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) have been kidnapped:
arrested on November 25, 2001 in Kathmandu and still disappeared.
The kidnapping and arrest of the following people have not yet been recognized by the government:
both kidnapped on April 15, 2002 in Kathmandu and still disappeared.
both kidnapped on April 28, 2002 in Kathmandu and still disappeared.
On April 23, 2002 the fascist state announced that anyone who can bring – dead or alive – a leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), will be given an award of 65,000 US dollar per person.
We, the undersigned parties and organisations, condemn and oppose the malpractice of the fascist state of Nepal and demand life security for the disappeared.
