Resolution Condemning U.S. Imperialist Aggression
Against Iraq

The Middle East and its vast supply of oil and labor is of strategic importance for U.S. imperialism as well as the other imperialist powers. U.S. imperialism has maintained its hegemony in the Middle East with a two pillar policy of support for the settler state of Israel and simultaneous support for the reactionary Arab regimes.

In the struggle for national liberation against imperialism, the oppressed Arab masses and proletariat have been in the forefront of sharp revolutionary struggle.

The struggle of the heroic Palestinian, Lebanese, Jordanian and other Arab masses has been drowned in blood by the Israeli settler state and by the reactionary Arab regimes and their CIA-backed leaders.

The U.S. imperialist-led aggression against Iraq in the Gulf War of 1991 (under the auspices of the United Nations) and the current threats of U.S. bombing and/or military invasion are efforts of U.S. imperialism to control the oil supply of the region. The world proletariat has no stake in sending their sons and daughters to die for the profits of imperialism.

This continuing U.S. imperialist-led aggression against Iraq, behind the smokescreen of protecting the world from weapons of mass destruction, is sending a message to all the bourgeois regimes throughout the Middle East to "stay in line" or be destroyed. The decision of the government and the people of Iraq to resist the dictates and aggressions of imperialism, signifie a heroic event.

Imperialism, headed by U.S. imperialism, with their nuclear and chemical stockpiles and their willingness to use them to protect their super-profits, represents the real threat from weapons of mass destruction.

The imperialist/United Nations economic sanctions against Iraq are directed against the Iraqi people, causing massive hardship including the death of hundreds of thousands of children.

We, the undersigned, condemn the aggression of U.S. imperialism and the other imperialist powers against the Iraqi people. We demand that all imperialist troops be removed from the Middle East, all imperialist military exercises be halted and the economic sanctions against the Iraqi people be immediately ended. The UNSCOM inspections, which serve as a model for the control over other countries, must be stopped.

We will promulgate the anti-imperialist slogan of "No Blood for Oil - U.S. Hands off Iraq" and the battlecry of national liberation for the oppressed Arab masses among the world proletariat.

We will promote proletarian internationalist solidarity with the revolutionary organisations and peoples of the Middle East who are struggling against U.S. and other imperialist-led domination/occupation, the settler state of Israel, and the Arab reactionary comprador bourgeoisie rulers.
