We, the undersigned, express our firm support to the struggle of the Communist Party of Albania (CPA) to regain socialism, dignity, freedom and independence for the Albanian people as expressed by Comrade Hysni Milloshi during the International Communist Seminar, held in Brussels on May 2-4, 1998 in the following terms:
"The Communist Party of Albania entered political life in 1991. It was re-established on September 10, 1991 under conditions of extreme terror. At that time, the counterrevolution had the upperhand in Albania, and the Party of Labour of Albania eliminated itself at its 10th Congress. A dirty campaign of lies and slander was started against the personality and the figure of comrade Enver Hoxha and his family.
The CPA was outlawed by the Albanian Parliament in July 1992. An extraordinary party conference was held, where it was decided that the Party should remain active in the underground. The party still covered the entire country. The Communist Party of Albania held its first congress in illegality in June 1995. The party contributed to the popular revolt of February-March 1997. The communists were in the frontline of the revolt, and some of the peopleís committees in the South were led by communists.
As a result of popular and international support, the party was legalised again on April 9,1998. The Albanian communists re-entered open political life at a time when the people have lost hope even in the Socialist Party. We are determined to fight, but we know well that our way is not at all paved. The Albanian bourgeoisie and the foreign secret services will do their best to turn the Communist Party of Albania into a social democratic party. But we are sure that they will fail, because we have both the support of the Albanian people and the solidarity of the communists throughout the world.
Our party is a poor party. We have neither offices nor equipment, nor any vehicle to go to the cities and to the countryside. But we have the great treasury of the people, who will support us when theyíll notice that we are voicing their ideals. Our slogan will be: ëa coalition only with the peopleí. The Marxist-Leninist teachings are certain to lead us to future victories."
We, the undersigned, are determined to concretise our material and financial support for the CPA within our capacities, in a one-year long solidarity campaign. Financial support may be centralised on the bank account of Fonds de soutien PTB, 001-1151486-75, Bruxelles, with mention of ëSolidarity with CPAí. Our political support may take various forms: the publication of articles and CPA documents that explain the situation and the struggle of the Albanian people and the CPA, solidarity visits to Albania, inviting CPA cadres and particularly cadres from its youth organisation ëQemal Stafaí for exchange visits, etc.
